New ICQ Observation Method Keys for Sloan u′g′r′i′z′ CCD Photometry

We would like to inform observers that the ICQ has officially declared new observation method keys for CCD photometry using Sloan u′g′r′i′z′ filters.

The following single-character method keys are now defined:

  • g = CCD/CMOS magnitude with Sloan g′ filter

  • r = CCD/CMOS magnitude with Sloan r′ filter

  • h= CCD/CMOS magnitude with Sloan i′ filter

  • z = CCD/CMOS magnitude with Sloan z′ filter


These new method keys have already been implemented in the COBS database and are available for immediate use when submitting observations.

Observers using Sloan filters are encouraged to adopt these keys.
