How to Update or Delete Your Observations on COBS

To manage your submitted observations on the COBS platform, follow these steps:

 

To update an existing observation:

  1. Access the My Observations page (see How to Access My Observations for detailed instructions).

  2. Use the search bar or filters to find the observation you want to update.

  3. In the observation’s row, click the Edit icon (🖉) to open the observation form.

  4. Adjust any data as needed (e.g. magnitude, coma diameter, sky quality).

  5. Click the Submit button to save your changes.

 

To delete an observation:

  1. Follow steps 1–4 above to locate the observation you want to remove.

  2. In the same row, click the Delete icon (🗑).

  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

⚠️ Important: Once deleted, the observation cannot be recovered. Be sure to double-check before confirming.

 

This functionality allows you to maintain the accuracy of your contributions to the COBS database. Use it whenever you need to correct or withdraw an observation.
